It might seem just a few months since the 2024 Annual Charity Walk (possibly because it is…) but already we are planning this year’s event - and asking everyone who would like to get involved to put a date in your diary.

The walk start is at 11am on Saturday 6 September from Eastville Park, and you’ll be able to choose between three distances (one more than last time!). You can walk either 1 mile on an accessible path, or 3 miles or 6 miles along the picturesque Frome Valley Walkway.

Last year over 100 wonderful walkers raised some £15,000, thanks to the superb efforts of those taking part and the incredible generosity of those who sponsored them. This year (of course!) we want to go one better and encourage even more people to join us.

As well as walkers, we will also be hoping some of you reading this will be able to join us on the day as part of the volunteer support team – manning the checkpoints, handing out medals and cake and generally making it all possible!

For anyone looking for a challenge to aim for this year, the Charity Walk is a great event to target: last year many of those taking part walked further than they had managed since their stroke… from a few yards through to the whole six miles.

Wheelchair users are welcome, supporting families especially so, and not forgetting furry, four-legged friends!
