Stroke-affected people from across Bristol and South Gloucestershire will discover helpful ways to improve their emotional and physical health at this year’s Bristol After Stroke “Wellbeing Day”.

This year’s free event, being held at St Monica Trust’s Westbury-on-Trym site on Friday 25th October 2024, is called “Finding Your Feet After Stroke”.

And, as well as volunteers with lived experience talking about what has helped them on their road to recovery, there will be a panel of expert professionals talking about living well after a stroke and answering questions.

Other topics covered during the day include:
•    Looking forward to getting older – how can we challenge negative stereotypes?
•    Harnessing your creativity to help with aphasia
•    Can music support rehabilitation after a stroke?
•    How people with lived experience are shaping stroke recovery in our region

"Last year was a huge success,” says Bristol After Stroke’s CEO Rebecca Sheehey, “with those taking part learning a range of techniques to help them on their road to recovery. This year is set to be another really informative, interactive and stimulating day.”

This year’s Wellbeing Day is being held between 10am and 2.30pm at Oatley Hall, St Monica Trust, Cote Lane, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol BS9 3UN.

Tickets are free for stroke-affected people and their carers, and you can book places by emailing [email protected] or by phoning 0117 964 7657.
