One of the most common symptoms that can remain long into a stroke-affected person’s recovery journey is aphasia: one’s ability to communicate.

And that’s why one of the most valued services we offer are our communication cafés… safe spaces for you to chat with our key workers as well as others who also have various levels of aphasia.

Friends and family are also warmly welcomed, allowing everyone to sit and chat (or just listen!)  in a relaxed, supportive and informal setting.

There is no pressure to talk, and you know you’ll be in the company of people who will totally understand your condition.  Not only that, but there are cakes and coffee to enjoy too!

There are three cafes to choose from:

Zion Community Hub, Bishopsworth Road, BS13 7JW on the 1st Wednesdays of each month between 10 and 11.30am.

The Ardagh Community Centre off Kellaway Avenue, BS6 7YL on the 3rd Tuesdays of each month between 1.00 and 2.30pm.

The Nest, Frenchay Road BS16 2QS on the 4th Thursdays of each month between 1.00 and 2.30pm.

Let your key worker know if you are interested in taking part, or contact the office on  0117  9647657 / [email protected]
